What is Bible Bowl?

Bible Bowl is a ministry that acquaints people of all ages with the word of God in a fun, interactive, and in-depth way. It's a game of quick recall and a way to praise the Lord with your knowledge of the word. It's a sustaining and retaining ministry. Also, it's a way to be blessed, for the Bible says, "Blessed are they that hear the word of God and keep it." ~ Luke 11:28

  • To make a deep, spiritual impact in the lives of our youth and young adults as they study to show themselves approved unto God.

  • To host an interactive and creative approach to studying and understanding the Bible in a fun, unique, family-feud approach.

Ontario Championship Games 2025

  • You can email our Bible Bowl Committee via email: biblebowl@adventistyouthontario.org.

  • Only if the churches are in the same district and share the same conference pastor. Otherwise, teams must be from the same local church or school within the Ontario Conference.

  • A registered team can have up to six members, but only four can play at a time. If you register four or more, you must have four playing during the game.

  • Yes. Alternates can be substituted only at the end of period two, or in case of illness or extreme emergency.

  • Each church or school may enter up to two teams per age category, but only if there are at least seven players in that category.

  • Yes, players can “play up” (e.g., a 15-year-old playing on a Senior Youth team). However, Pre-Juniors and Adults must stay in their assigned categories and cannot move up or down.

  • No. Conference pastors and Bible instructors are not eligible to participate as team members.

  • Yes. Any team member or coach may say "challenge" if they believe a correct answer was rejected. The Moderator and Judges will review it, and the decision will be announced at half-time or the end of the game.

  • A one-minute lightning round will be played using only toss-up questions. If there's still a tie, the lightning round is repeated until a winner is declared.

  • Yes! Non-Adventist participation is encouraged as a witness. They just need to meet the other eligibility criteria.

  • The King James Version (KJV) is the official version used for creating questions, though modern English will be accepted for numeric answers.

  • No. Individuals can only be registered on one team per season.

  • If your team does not show up within 15 minutes after being called, you will forfeit that game.

  • Yes. Teams from the same church may be required to compete against one another based on the game draw and progression.

  • Only during bonus questions. For toss-up and lightning round questions, no conferring is allowed. Talking during these rounds can result in loss of opportunity, point deductions, or even disqualification after repeated offenses.

  • Yes, but only the original players on the winning team are eligible. The Ontario Bible Bowl Committee sends formal invitations and assigns a coach for the national event. Financial assistance will also be available for teams to travel to Nationals.
