He Qualifies The Called
Daniel Ayoo serves as the current president for Mustard Seed Adventist Christian Fellowship, composed of students from the following downtown campuses: University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University, OCAD University, and George Brown College.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you became involved in ACF?
My name is Daniel Ayoo, and I am a fourth-year psychology student at the University of Toronto. Originally from Ottawa, I represent the Ottawa Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Some of my passions include music and sports. I first discovered Mustard Seed ACF in my first year after being invited by a friend. At the time, I was also searching for a Christian community to be part of. The following year, I joined the executive team as the music coordinator. It felt like a small role, and I didn’t think much of it, but little did I know what was ahead. The next year, I was asked to be the president of my ACF chapter. I had never taken on a leadership role like this before, but I couldn’t say no.
Share your experience as Mustard Seed President!
As president, my focus has been on two things: building community and reaching out to the campus. The first is crucial because university life can be isolating, and having a supportive, faith-based family makes a difference. The second is just as vital because public universities are the largest mission fields! Students come from all over the world, giving us the opportunity to share the love of God with all sorts of people.
What advice can you pass on to future leaders?
I have seen God work in many ways through this ministry, especially in my own life. It has taught me to trust His plan fully and let Him lead. My advice for anyone starting with ACF is this: ministry requires a heart that is open to God’s leading and a willingness to grow. There is no such thing as being “qualified” to serve. God doesn’t call the qualified—He qualifies the called.
